Center for big data opens in Lhasa

A new center for big data began operation on Saturday in Lhasa, Tibet autonomous region. It is the first such center at the regional level and a step toward big data integration and application sharing, local media reported.
 
The center was designed and built in accordance with the highest national A-level standards, drawing on the experience of other cities and provinces, including Shanghai, Sichuan and Zhejiang.
 
The main office to the big data center is in Lhasa. It has 3,000 racks.
 
The center has provided cloud services for 491 systems from departments at different levels of the region, with 25 data interfaces and 433 million pieces of data collected.
 
It helps to boost digital services including government affairs, economic development, social governance, people's livelihoods, market supervision, finance, border prosperity, ecological environment protection, emergency fire control and cultural tourism.
