June 8,2020 -- In recent years, Damxung County of Lhasa City, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, has promoted tourism development through traveling to Lake Namtso, digging up cordyceps sinensis and hot springs bath as its highlights, attracting a number of visitors by the local unique tourism resources.
Mt. Mulan, located in the north of Damxung County, sees snow melting every May when cordyceps sinensis become ripened. Great efforts have been made to promote the brand of Mt. Lanmu's cordyceps sinensis that has become a new engine energizing local rural revitalization and helping poverty alleviation.
The 2020 Jijing (Pure land) Damxung Cordyceps Sinensis Cultural Festival & Tourism Cultural Festival was held at the foot of Mt. Mulan in May 20. It involved various activitiessuch as an opening ceremony, digging up cordyceps sinensis and art performance.
This year's cultural festival mainly showed the culture of cordyceps sinensis via live-streaming platforms. Tourists not only watched excellent performances, but also experienced the fun of digging up cordyceps sinensis. At the site, Chimed Tsering, Damxung's county chief, boosted sales of local farming and husbandry products through the streaming services of e-commerce platforms.
Four-hour live-streaming show attracted over 20 million visitors and generated a total turnover of 2.6 million yuan RMB, achieving this year's target in advance.
