Songtsan Gampo won gold prize in National Ethnic Minority Arts Festival

Sept. 20, 2016 -- The 5th National Ethnic Minority Arts Festival which lasted almost one month has come to an end recently in Beijing. The Qinghai delegation’s plays won the third prize.
 
The large-scaled Tibetan opera Songtsan Gampo has wonthe highest prize in the festival – the gold prize for plays; and the original dance and song drama named The Rainbow Daughter gained the highest prize for the best playwright.
 
Tibetan opera Songtsan Gampo, the joint performance of the Opera Troupe of the Qinghai Province and the Ethnic Dance and Sing Ensemble of Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai, as well as the play The Rainbow Daughter produced by the Tu Autonomous County in the Haidong City, Qinghaiare plays which have rich ethnic characteristics with fascinating plots that focus on revealing the uniqueness and beauty of the ethnic culture in Qinghai.
 
More than 7000 performers from 35 delegations include 31 provinces, autonomous regions, the Production and Construction Corps of Xinjiang as well as the liaison offices of the China's central government in the Honngkong and Macau Special Administrative Regions participated in the festival.
