Highlights on 3rd China Tibet Tourism, Culture Expo

Sept. 1, 2016 -- The second press conference of the 3rd China Tibet Tourism and Culture Expo was held on the afternoon of Aug. 24.
 
At the press conference, Wang Wenpei, deputy secretary-general of Tibet Autonomous Region's government, said that China's central government has paid high attention to the development of Tibetan culture and tourism. The Party Central Committee puts forward clearly that Tibet will be built into an important International tourist destination and a protected region of Chinese nation’s unique culture. Currently, tourism industry has become Tibet's pillar industry. Until to the end of July, Tibet has already welcomed 11.73 million tourists from home and abroad, generating 1.63 billion yuan in tourism revenue.
 
This press conference mainly introduces the highlights of the upcoming China Tibet Tourism and Culture Expo.
 
Tibet Tourism Forum will be held in Lhasa, capital of SW China's Tibet Autonomous Region, on Sep.13. The forum invites representatives of International tourism organizations, travel agencies, experts to give advice for scientific development of Tibet tourism. Besides, Tibet Tourism Pavilion will be set in No.2 hall of Tibet Exhibition Center. Tibet's tourism achievements, resource endowment and unique products will be shown with new technology and new equipment. The signing ceremony of 2016 Tibet Tourism Key Projects will be held on the afternoon of Sep.12.
 
In addition, the 3rd China Tibet Tourism and Culture Expo will also show Tibetan culture's unique charm with exhibitions, art performances, forums and various ways.
