Sept.3,2021 -- With an altitude of 5,450 meters, Ke Liya, a name of a mountain pass of Kunlun Mountains, located at the west of Kunlun Mountains, is on the border of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Tibet Autonomous Region.
Having a history of thousands of years, it is also a road of heroes, which was passed by the PLA's advance detachment in 1950.
According to the record, the PLA had paved roadbeds of 169 kilometers from here in order to link Xinjiang to Tibet. However, for its precipitousness, they changed to build another one---No. 219 national road. It starts from Yecheng County of Kashi Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, to Shiquanhe Town of Ngari Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region.
The PLA's advance detachment forged ahead from Ke Liya Mountains Pass to Gerze County of Ngari Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region.
