Bilingual education forum focuses on ethnic groups

Nov. 21, 2016 -- The first National Bilingual Education Forum was held on Nov.12 in Qinghuangdao city, N. China’s Hebei Province.
 
Educational officials and over 50 experts and scholars from higher institutions and research centers nationwide attended the forum to exchange views on bilingual education in ethnic areas.
 
“The bilingual education research in ethnic areas should be open and inclusive. More bilingual teachers should be cultivated and more efforts should be made upgrade teaching materials,” said Zhou Xiaomei, deputy director of the Education and Science Department of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission (SEAC), in her opening speech. 
 
Maoliti Mansuer, director of the Minority Education Department of the Ministry of Education, stressed the importance of supervision on bilingual education.
