Aug.19, 2016 -- India has completed the reconstruction of the Pasighat airport 100 kilometer away from the China-India borders, Russia’s Sputnik reported on Wednesday.
The new airport will be put into use on Aug.19 and Su--30MKI fighter aircraft and C-130J Super Hercules tactical transport aircraft are allowed to use the airport, said the Sputnik.
The new airport will strengthen the logistic capacities for Indian air force in Northeastern India, according to the Sputnik.
The Pasighat airport has been operating during the Sino-India war in 1962 and was suspended after the war. Since 2009, India started renovating seven military airports near China-India border and has completed 5 of them.
