April 21,2020 -- Tibet Autonomous Region has carved out four classical travel itineraries within the region to help visitors better plan their trips.

The two to three-day itineraries focus on the plateau region’s rural areas to boost rural tourism. In east Tibet route, tourists can enjoy peach blossom in Nyingchi and other historic landmarks. The south Tibet route includes major destinations like Lebu ditch, Mama Village and Wild Wolf Valley. With the theme of agriculture, the west Tibet route incorporates the Rural Industrial Integration Demonstration Base in Bailang County and the National Demonstration Base for the Integrated Development of Rural Industries in Qushui County. In north Tibet, visitors can have fun at the Yangbajing Hot Spring and Dadong village.

Wang Songping, director of the Department of Tourism Development of Tibet, said that Tibet’s tourism industry shows a good momentum despite COVID-19. The proposed travel routes will boost rural tourism and increase incomes of farmers and herdsmen.

More scenic attractions have reopened to tourists in Tibet. Namtso scenic spot opened on Apr. 15th and Basum Scenic Area will reopen on May. 1st.
