Some flights and trains to Tibet canceled for epidemic control

Feb.4, 2020 -- Some flights and trains to Tibet have been canceled to curb the spread of novel coronavirus, according to Tibet’s authorities.

China Eastern Airlines cancels the flights MU9619/20 (Xi’an-Lhasa-Xi’an) from Feb.1st to Feb.29th, MU2333/4 (Xi’an-Lhasa-Xi’an) from Feb. 4th to Feb. 29th and MU5825/6 (Chengdu-Lhasa-Chengdu) from Feb.3rd to Feb.29th. China Southern Airlines cancels the flights CZ3463/4 (Guangzhou-Chongqing-Lhasa-Chongqing-Guangzhou) from Jan.31st to Feb. 29th, CZ3477/8 (Guangzhou-Nyingchi-Guangzhou) from Jan.31st to Feb. 29th. China Sichuan Airlines cancels the flights 3U8719,3U8720 (Chengdu-Lhasa-Kathmandu -Lhasa-Chengdu) on 7th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 19th of February and on Wednesdays from March 1st to 28th. The flights MF8467/8412 (Xiamen-Chongqing-Lhasa-Chongqing-Fuzhou) on Wednesdays from Jan 30th to March 3rd and MF8411/8468 (Fuzhou-Chongqing-Lhasa-Chongqing-Xiamen) on Thursdays from Jan 30th to March 3rd are canceled by China Xiamen Airlines.
 
To contain the spread of the epidemic, China Qinghai-Tibet Railway Group also made some adjustments. The trains Z9809 (Xining-Lhasa) from Jan 30th to April 1st, Z9810 (Lhasa-Xining) from Feb 1st to March 30th are canceled and the trains Z8803/4 (Lhasa-Shigatse) have been suspended indefinitely since Feb 1st. The tickets are fully refundable without any service charge.

Yang Qiang, Party chief of theLhasa Railway Station, said that passengers with a fever would be transferred to the observation room at the station. The railway station will also step up disinfection in the waiting room and ticket office and strengthen body temperature monitoring of people who enter or exit the station.
