May 24,2018--Invited by the State Council Information Office, a Ukrainian delegation led by Viktor Yelensky, member of the Ukrainian parliament paid a six-day visit to Tibet from May 13 to 19.

During the visit, the delegation was impressed by the achievements Tibet has made in social governance, cultural inheritance, education and medical care, media development and ecological protection.

“During the visit, I learned the profound history of Tibet and was impressed by Tibet’s infrastructure and highways. Tibetans are living a happy life,” said an official from Ukraine’s Ministry of Culture.

In Tashigang Village, the delegation was surprised by villagers’ high incomes. “I was amazed by the central government’s efforts to develop eco-tourism. The support for an industry from the government is unimaginable in Ukraine,” said a member.

Penpa Tashi, minister of the Publicity Department of Tibet Autonomous Region, said the all-round development of Tibet has been attributed to the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the socialist system and the national unity.

Viktor Yelensky, head of the delegation, said that he will tell the people of Ukraine a real picture of beautiful Tibet.

Ukraine will continue to support the one-China policy and the visit will deepen their understanding of Tibet and strengthen friendship and cooperation between Ukraine and China, said Viktor.
