Dec. 27, 2016 -- Since the beginning of this year, Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, has focused on the building of all-region tourism demonstration district and optimizing the environment. 642 million yuan has been poured into the protection of Lhalu wetland, the building of Binhe park and a state-level ecological observation station. At the moment, Lhasa boasts 27 ecological function areas, 14 region-level ecological towns and 140 ecological villages. Forest coverage stands at 19.5 percent.
