Feb. 6, 2018 -- On the first day of the travel rush marked on Feb. 1, more than 5,000 passengers began their journey from the Lhasa railway station, and most of them headed to Chengdu, capital city of southwest China's Sichuan Province and Guangzhou, capital city of south China's Guangdong Province. It is estimated that some 165,000 travelers will travel through the Lhasa railway station, about 4,200 trips daily on average, during the 40-day travel rush till March 12.
