Aug. 24, 2017 -- Under the guidance of the CPC Central Committee headed by General Secretary Xi Jinping, Tibet Autonomous Region has made impressive strides in poverty alleviation, education and ecological protection.

A batch of poverty alleviation projects have been launched in Quxu county in the region’s capital city of Lhasa. Villagers from various places, especially mountainous areas in the county, have been relocated to new settlements, Sanyou village and Siji Jixiang village in particular, which were built from scratch just in several months. The newly built villages have been equipped with education, healthcare and entertainment facilities and job opportunities have been created for them.

Located in Lhasa, Nagqu No.2 High School has attracted the largest number of students from Nagqu county since its foundation in 2013. These students from herding families can enjoy access to quality educational resources like children in inland cities.

Tibet has also been committed to ecological protection to achieve harmony between human and nature. For example, a green project launched in 2012 has turned Nanshan Park in Lhasa from a desolate place into a beautiful park with trees and flowers flourishing.
