May 2,2017--Since April 2016, Samye Monastery in Chanang County, Lhoka, Tibet, has begun its maintenance work of the main hall. Up to now, the maintenance of the roof, floor, and beams have been underway and is expected to be finished by June.
With a history of over 1,200 years, Samye Monastery is the first Tibetan Buddhist monastery, covering a total area of 25,000 square meters. It is a key national cultural protected unit and one of Tibet's most important religious places and tourist attractions.
