Dec. 15, 2016 -- Tibetan Buddhist Association training classes held by the Central Institute of Socialism (Chinese Culture Institute) was launched Tuesday.
More than 40 faculty members from temples around Tibet participated in the training.
Party secretary and first vice president of the Central Institute of Socialism Pan Yue, and Tibetan United Front Work Department of the Party Committee member and deputy director of the Office of Religious Affairs Ping Cuowangdui attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
“The fundamental task of the Central Institute of Socialism is to carry out the political consensus education of socialism with Chinese characteristics and cultural identity education of Chinese civilization, and constantly strengthen the trainee’s confidence in the path, theory, system and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics,” said Pan Yue.
He also stressed that Tibet has been a part of China since ancient times, and Tibetan culture together with Tibetan Buddhist culture is an important component of Chinese culture. Representatives of Tibetan Buddhism should actively promote exchanges with Han Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism and other ethnic cultures.
The 14-daytraining will help construct positive and healthy religious relations and adapt Tibetan Buddhism to China's new conditions.
