|July 11,2018-- The cultural event“Experience China 2018 in Costa Rica” kicked off in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica on July 5. The event was co-sponsored by the State Council Information Office of China, the Chinese Embassy to Costa Rica, and the Costa Rica-China Friendship Association.
The event featured an exhibition themed on China’s poverty reduction and a gala evening on the friendship between China and Costa Rica.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Sun Zhijun, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, said despite the long distance between China and Costa Rica, the two countries are familiar to each other. China is willing to join hands with Costa Rica to further promote the bilateral relationship.
Since China and Costa Rica established diplomatic relations 11 years ago, the two countries have witnessed rapid development in bilateral ties, which has brought about benefits to the two peoples, said Tang Heng, Chinese Ambassador to Costa Rica.
After visiting the exhibition, Jimmy Hernandez, a Nicaraguan university student studying in Costa Rica, said he was deeply touched by China’s poverty reduction and Central American countries should learn from China’s experiences to improve people’s livelihood.
