March 27, 2018 -- The UN Human Rights Council adopted last Friday a resolution proposed by China entitled “Promoting Mutually Beneficial Cooperation in the Field of Human Rights”.
The adoption is considered to help developing counties get a greater say in global human rights governance.
The resolution recognizes the important role of beneficial cooperation in promoting and protecting human rights and stresses all human rights must be treated in a fair and just manner.
It calls upon all countries to adopt multilateralism and promote beneficial cooperation in human rights.
