BEIJING, March 19,2021 -- China made solid progress in improving capability and accessibility of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) service in the past five years, according to the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The central government budgeted over 37 billion yuan (about 5.7 billion U.S. dollars) at facilitating infrastructure development in over 1,000 TCM hospitals nationwide during the period, the administration said.

Efforts have been made to set up TCM service centers in more than 30,000 health service centers and hospitals at community and township levels.

A TCM-related information platform has also been launched to boost primary-level service, on which 38,800 doctors are registered and 13.79 million visits of patients were received as of the end of 2020.
