|June 20, 2018 -- A delegation of China Foundation for Human Rights Development (CFHRD) led by Huang Mengfu, former vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairman of the CFHRD, visited Greece from June 13 to 16, 2018.
The delegation met with Gia Nakache, secretary general of the human rights office of Greece’s Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights, and leaders of the Greek Parliament, such as Krakys, first deputy speaker of Greek Parliament, Starmuri, chairman of the Equality, Youth and Human Rights Commission, Douzinas, chairman of the Foreign and Defense Committee.
Huang gave an introduction of the rapid development of China’s human rights cause since the reform and opening up policy was adopted 40 years ago and especially since the 18th CPC National Congress was convened in 2012.
China has successfully found a path of human rights development suited to its national conditions. More than 700 million Chinese people have shaken off poverty and China’s going to make continuous efforts to develop human rights, said Huang.
Huang also introduced the CFHRD's role and efforts in promoting human rights and expressed China’s desire of more cooperation and exchanges with Greece.
