Feb. 11, 2018 -- China's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations Wu Haitao calls for the UN member countries to reach global consensus on fighting against terrorism on Thursday.

Wu said that terrorism is a threat to all mankind and the international community should adopt a unified standard.

Wu stressed that since wars, conflicts, ethnic hatred and poverty breed terrorism, global efforts should be focused on poverty alleviation and the political solution to regional conflicts.

With the Internet becoming a recruiting tool for terrorists, the international community should strengthen Internet control to cut off the propaganda and financing channels of terrorism, said Wu.

China will continue to promote anti-terrorism cooperation and provide assistance to developing countries to safeguard world peace, said Wu.
