Feb. 1, 2018 -- China’s Ministry of Civil Affairs will hold activities nationwide to strengthen protection of left-behind children in rural areas and children in poverty and to improve the system of child welfare.

The ministry called for governments at all levels to put improving the welfare of left-behind children and children in poverty as top priority, introduce new methods and pool strength of a variety of participants to do this job.

The ministry hopes to translate the activities into sustainable efforts to improve the livelihood of children in need.
