Jan. 31, 2018 -- The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is an multilateral financial institution proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013. It was officially founded on December 25, 2015. After two years’ operation, it has won recognition from the international community.

As a China-led international cooperation mechanism, it shows China’s international perspective and wisdom.

The founding of AIIB is for coping with new challenges in globalization. By investing in the infrastructure construction of the member countries, AIIB will help enhance connection, promote economic and social development, improve ecological environment and reduce poverty.

Openness, inclusiveness and transparency are the underlying principles of AIIB. It strives to build a multilateral cultural environment for all the members to better understand and work with each other.

AIIB shares the same spirit with the Belt and Road Initiative, which is to build a community with a shared future for mankind. Countries and regions along the Belt and Road will benefit from AIIB’s investment..

In 2018, AIIB will continue to improve its management system and recruit more employees, especially front-line project staff. We’ll focus on more independent projects, give consideration to both inland and outland work and start to build a project assessment system.
