Dec.5,2017--"China has made tremendous progress in improving children’s living conditions over the past 40 years," said Helle Thorning-Schmidt, CEO of Save the Children, an international organization focused on child protection, education and health, in an interview with China.org.cn on November 27, 2017.

Save the Children has led global action on children’s rights in over 120 countries and regions for more than 90 years. Their vision is to create a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation.

“Our work has benefited millions of children in China over the past 30 years,” said Thorning-Schmidt, “Our cooperation with governments at all levels in China is essential to our success. We understand that real changes come only when you have full support of the government, especially in China. So we use our expertise to provide innovative solutions for the Chinese government.”

“Save the Children has been cooperating with the Ministry of Civil Affairs to create a child protection system. We are also working together with the Chinese judicial branch to promote a child-friendly judicial system,” she said.
