Jan. 17, 2019 -- Dressed in burgundy robes and carrying a dark blue briefcase, 28-year-old Living Buddha Khyungpo, a member of the Tibet Autonomous Region Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, arrived to participate in the Second Session of the 11th Tibet Autonomous Region Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, which was opened on Jan. 9.

Living Buddha Khyungpo was one of three candidates for the reincarnation of the 10th Panchen Lama in 1995. Finally, he was recognized as the third reincarnation of Living Buddha Khyungpo from Tashi Gyalpey Monastery in Shetongmon County, Shigatse City, Tibet Autonomous Region. And he was now resident at Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse.

In 2012, Khyungpo was elected as a member of the Tibet Autonomous Region Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and assumed his responsibility. In recent years, he has proposed proposals that focused on the people's livelihood, such as education and health.

Although he is a member of the religious community, Khyungpo's proposals are not confined to this sector.

He said, "Buddhism is compassionate and inclusive. As a member of the Tibet Autonomous Region Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, it is necessary to use different methods to gather the problems reflected by the farming and nomadic masses. This is my responsibility and my duty."

As a young person, Khyungpo also has his own Tencent Weibo, Sina Weibo, and WeChat. On these social media platforms, he often shares Buddhist knowledge and sentiments about life, conveying the essence of the Dharma through his own social platform, which inspires some people.

In the new year, he hopes to continue to learn the Dharma and other studies, while also having the opportunity to go around, take a look, and understand China's development and changes.

"I have to do my best and continue to do good works," he said.
