According to data, after more than 20 years of construction, management and protection, the population of the key protected wild animals in Changtang National Natursl Reserve has increased markedly.
 
The population of Tibetan antelope increases from 50,000 to more than 150,000, while the wild yak increases from 7,000 to more than 10,000 head, Tibetan wild donkey increases from 30,000 to more than 50,000 head. Number of other wild animals such as snow leopard, argali, and black-necked cranes also grow obviously.
