Tibet’s environmental monitoring capacity improves steadily

Aug.9,2016--During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, China National Environmental Monitoring Center has carried out a series of aid-Tibet activities. By increasing fund, instrument and equipment investment as well as holding various kinds of special skills training, Tibet's environmental monitoring capacity and technological level are improved comprehensively, according to an aid-Tibet meeting of the 13th Five-Year Plan held by the national environmental protection system recently.

During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, 39.0567 million yuan construction fundis applied for improving Tibet's environmental monitoring capacity. The fund is mainly used to support the automatic monitoring of surface water environment quality,  automatic monitoring of new city environment and air standard, and the standardization ability construction of city and county level monitoring stations. In addition, 6 city and county level automatic air quality monitoring stations are constructed. A series of monitoring on surface water, drinking water, air quality and so on are carried out. The fund appropriation of Tibet's network operation is 10.604 million yuan.

At the same time, through carrying out various forms of technical training, practical training, on-site guidance and so on, the technical level of Tibet's monitoring personnel is greatly improved.
