May 19,2021 -- Last year, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region received 10.61 million tourists in rural tourism, realizing 1.217 billion yuan RMB in tourism income. Rural tourism created jobs for 125,000 farmers and herdsmen, generating an income of 630 million yuan RMB. Tibet ranks first in the recovery of national tourism market.

During the 13th Five-Year period, the region built over 300 rural tourism sites, 26 tourism towns with distinctive characteristics, and 2,377 family inns. All these efforts lifted 75,000 poor people out of poverty, going well beyond the original target of 72,000.

While keeping regular prevention and control of COVID-19, the region continues to advance the supply-side structural reform of tourism, enhance efficiency in the use of natural resources, promote the brand of "the Earth's third pole", and facilitate the building of world's tourism destination.
