Feb.2,2021 -- "With the improvement of people's living standards, ecological products become popular. The production of our Tibetan chicken eggs cannot meet the market demands. Now, there are three chicken coops in our cooperative. Next, I will build another two chicken coops and renovate the road to the cooperative," introduced Tamdrin, the founder of Naiqung Jiamu Conging Tibetan Chicken-Raising Cooperative.

34-year-old Tamdrin lives in Naiqung Neighborhood of Doilungdeqen District, Lhasa City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. A few years ago, she was seriously injured in a traffic accident. Despite being handicapped, Tamdrin never gave up efforts to stand up. "As the only child of my aging parents, I am responsible for taking care of them," Tamdrin said, “In 2015, my family was registered as impoverished. After a three-year treatment, I could walk with a stick. Then, thanks to the help from local government, I went to work at a nearby Tibetan medicine company. With a stable salary, my family's income increased. "

After being married, to shake off poverty and make a better life for her family, Tamdrin and her husband began to engage in Tibetan chicken-raising business. In 2017, with the help from friends and relatives, she invested 450,000 yuan RMB to build a Tibetan chicken-raising cooperative.

"At the beginning, my husband and I went to Gyangze County of Xigaze City for buying pure Tibetan chickens. For limited funds, we only bought 30 Tibetan chickens. Later, we borrowed about 400,000 from my relatives and friends and built chicken coops." said Tamdrin.

Now, the business is going well. There are now about 100 chickens in the cooperative, producing 20 to 70 eggs every day. Each egg is sold at five yuan RMB. The monthly sales exceed 10,000 yuan RMB. Moreover, Tamdrin's husband sets up a construction team consisting of over 20 workers, which mainly works in house building and decoration.

"We are satisfied with the current life. In 2017, we moved to a new house at Xiangheyuan Community, a relocation site. Now, we have paid off debts and gotten rid of poverty. Next, I will buy more Tibetan chickens and expand sales." Tamdrin said with confidence.
