July 3,2020 -- In 2019, Nyemo County of Lhasa City, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region explored industrial poverty alleviation mode of "Party branch + poor households + leading enterprises", so as to increase poor people's income while promoting industrial development.

Covering an area of 40,000 m2, with designed breeding capacity of 50,000 Tibetan chickens and a total investment of 25.4882 million yuan RMB (20.9899 million yuan RMB for construction and 4.4983 million yuan RMB for operation and management), a standardized Tibetan chickens breeding base for poor households, located in the north of Kharu Town's Kharu Village, about 50 m away from the township road, was completed in April 2019, consisting of 25 chicken houses equipped with egg and feed storages, sewage treatment pool, power distribution room, guard room, disinfection room, dining hall as well as other facilities. At the end of the same month, Nyemo County officially started to run it.

Under the unified management of Kharu Town's cooperative, the base directly drives poor people to increase their income through two ways: firstly, 32 people from 32 poor households work in four shifts in turn, with a daily salary of 100 yuan RMB for each person, which increases the per capita annual income by 12,000 yuan RMB; secondly, the operation income will be managed by the cooperative, and distributed to impoverished people at the end of the year.

As of December 20, 2019, the base's operating income has reached 520,000 yuan RMB. Except necessary operating costs, all proceeds have been used for annual dividends to the town's poor people. As the operation is gradually mature, the base's revenue and capacity to bring wealth is also greatly improved.
