July 1,2020 -- Income channel of people in Dochen Village, Tuna Town, Yadong County of Xigaze City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region was narrow because of poor climatic conditions and weak industrial base. Aiming at further expanding people's income source, the county Party committee and government invested 9.61 million yuan RMB to establish a Plateau Pollution-free Vegetable Planting Cooperative in 2017, and hired technical instructors from Bainang County for on-site guidance and training.

Under the lead of the village Party branch and village committee, 57 villagers (including 11 from registered poor households) in the whole village joined the cooperative. After two years of development, the cooperative's vegetable output reached 55 tons in 2019, realizing an income of 470,000 yuan RMB with an average household dividend exceeded 6,500 yuan RMB, the maximum dividend up to 40,000 yuan RMB.

Villager Dawa Tsering has been a member of the cooperative for 3 years. Now, his family's annual income from greenhouse planting has increased by more than 15,000 yuan RMB. "The cooperative is getting better and better. As long as we are diligent and the greenhouses are properly managed, there is a good harvest!" He says.

The cooperative has helped fellow villagers become rich and increase their income, effectively solved vegetable supply problems in 4 neighboring villages and towns. Fresh vegetables also bring a favorable reception." Recently, we sold 1,800 kg of vegetables to neighboring Kangmar County, delivering fresh vegetable in time," says Liu Dongdong, a cadre of village task force.

At present, Dochen Village is preparing to build11 "Dochen Benefiting People Store" sales branches integrating the sales of vegetables, meat, grain and oil, as well as subsidiary food stuff in 11 villages (neighborhood committees) in Tuna and Gyeru towns, so as to further expand sales channels.

"Now, the cooperative is quite mature, and ready to participate in the selection of demonstration cooperative in the region. This year, we will build 25 new greenhouses to further scale up vegetable planting. The cooperative's income is expected to exceed 700,000 yuan RMB this year," Migmar Tsering is full of confidence in the future development of the cooperative.
