April 29,2020 -- "Loquats in our yard are ripe, we will pick and send them to the village committee, please give me some packing boxes," Urgyen Rinchen, a villager from registered poor household in Deshing Village of Medog County, Nyingchi City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, is talking to members of village task force in local party-mass service center.

Through fertilization and proper cultivation, Urgyen Rinchen's loquat trees have produced high-quality fruits. Since the development of garden economy in Deshing Village, loquat planting has brought a lot of income to his family every year.

In the past, the village had the habit of planting loquat. Yet due to the lack of professional techniques in pruning, fruit thinning, and fertilization among local farmers, their fruits got worse and worse year by year. Besides, there were no passenger buses in the village before, loquat transportation was inconvenient and marketing channel was single; most ripe loquats were either eaten by themselves or given to their relatives and friends -- loquats were only used as a snack for children at that time.

In recent years, thanks to the joint efforts of Party committees and governments at all levels, and under the guidance of local village task forces and members of village committee, farmers and herdsmen have gradually changed their ideas and planted new varieties of loquat in their courtyards. Through repeated training of technique, as well as careful planting, their fruit quality is getting better and better. Moreover, the improvement of traffic has opened up market, more and more villagers have started to plant loquat.

Aiming at broadening the market, local village task force and members of village committee have taken their loquats' advantages of farmyard manure and natural, gathered every family's loquat and packed them with exquisite boxes, which have enhanced consumers' attraction.

This year, passenger buses are available in the village. Many buyers from Medog County come to buy them. Packaged loquats are transported to the county through buses too. "We will plant more loquats next year to expand scale," says Jiang Yonghong, a local planter.

As an ethnic inhabited area of Menba group, Deshing Village has stepped from a society depending on the weather to one with tap water, electricity and means of communications, which makes local villagers full of gratitude to the Party, the state, as well as people who help them. Currently, every family has built a new kitchen. Walking through the village, local people warmly invite tourists to taste delicious loquats.
