At present, tea planting and picking areas in Metok County is up to 11.28 km² and 3.39 km² respectively. It is estimated that 480,094 kg of tea-leaves will be picked in 2020, increasing the income of 4,423 local people from 996 households by 24 million yuan RMB.

 

In 2020, Nyingchi City has assigned a total tea planting task of 16.67 km² to its counties and tea plantations, which is completed. In order to promote the production of spring tea in an effective and orderly manner, the autonomous region and Nyingchi City has jointly formed an inspection & technical guidance group to carry out field measurement and help tea enterprises resume production. Currently, ten tea enterprises in Nyingchi City have returned to work.
