LHASA, March 13,2020 -- More than 2,600 technicians will be mobilized to the front line to provide technical services for farmers and herdsmen and help solve practical problems in agricultural and animal husbandry production this year, according to the agriculture and rural affairs department of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
The technicians, from the regional agriculture and rural affairs department, the Tibet Academy of Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Sciences and Tibet Agricultural and Animal Husbandry University, aim to help improve quality and efficiency of the agriculture and animal husbandry, based on science and technology,and increase local farmers and herdsmen's income.
The regional agriculture and rural affairs department said these technicians involve in 48 specialties, covering seven major industries in Tibet, such as highland barley, yak, pig, sheep, dairy industry, vegetables and forage. They are also expected to provide training for local farmers and herdsmen and introduce practical technologies.
Nyima Zhaxi, dean of Tibet Academy of Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Sciences, said they have combed more than 100 practical technologies, issued 18 Chinese-Tibetan bilingual technology guidelines and made training videos, which can be obtained from WeChat and other distance education platforms.
