Dantse: Moving into new house to start a new life
By:China Tibet News
update:January 23,2020
Jan.23,2020 -- In the past, Dantse, a relocated household from Gerze County, Ngari Prefecture, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, lived in a tent with his families in Chagbo Town's Niugaxiu Village, with no electricity and limited drinking water. His family used to earn only 5,000 yuan RMB in a year. In 2012, he and his wife moved to the town's Luren Neighborhood Committee, worked everywhere, but only solved basic food and clothing.

In 2016, under the unified arrangement of Ngari Prefecture, the family has moved to a relocation community for poverty alleviation in Shiquanhe Town, named Kangle Xinju. They have lived in a two-story new detached house with heating system, water supply and electricity. Dantse has worked as a security guard in the town then, with an annual income of nearly 30,000 yuan RMB; he has been also elected by villagers as the leader of the first group of Kangle Xinju, responsible for collective economy such as a sewing factory of 140 villagers in the service group; with an annual salary of 14,000 yuan RMB paid by the neighborhood committee. In addition, the collective economy receives an annual income of more than 70,000 yuan RMB; thus each household gets a dividend of over 500 yuan RMB annually.

Since Dantse and other 18 households moved from the county seat and other neighborhood committees, they did not receive grassland subsidies. Therefore, Dantse proposed to the neighborhood committee to organize and establish a cooperative jointly participated by local households, and he served as the president of the cooperative. Last year, the cooperative earned over 30,000 yuan RMB through opening teahouses and shops; each household received more than 2,000 yuan RMB in dividends. Later, he quitted his job to concentrate on his work in cooperative, and lift others out of poverty, too.

In 2019, with the support of the neighborhood committee, he and 18 households jointly set up a construction team, and obtained a contract with an investment of 920,000 yuan RMB; the project is scheduled to start in February this year.

"Thanks to the Party and the government, my life is getting better and better. I help other villagers live a good life now." He says determinedly.
