Rural Lhasa sees rapid growth in disposable income

Aug.9, 2019 -- Lhasa, the capital city of the Tibet autonomous region, has seen rapid growth in the per capita disposable income of rural residents, and the livelihoods of rural residents have steadily improved since this year, Tibet Daily reported.
 
In the first half of 2019, the city’s per capita disposable income for rural residents hit 4,978 yuan ($707), an increase of 12.5 percent year-on-year. 
 
Within that figure, wage income comprised 2,130 yuan, an increase of 24.9 percent; operating revenue 1,738 yuan, up 0.2 percent; transferred income 840 yuan, climbing 3.1 percent; and property income 270 yuan, up 58.8 percent.
 
Lhasa ranked third in the region for total per capita disposable income of rural residents, and the amount was 969 yuan higher than the region’s average increment. 
 
The city’s speed of growth in per capita disposable income of rural residents hit 12.5 percent, which is the third fastest in the region and represents a 1.5 percent year-on-year rise.
 
This year, the city government, which has attached great importance to work on income growth for rural residents, implemented a series of preferential policies to benefit farmers in terms of income generation.
 
In the first half of 2019, the city conducted labor force training for 3,391 people, up 61 percent. Additionally, starting from Jan.1, rural residents saw their standard of subsistence allowance rise to 4,550 yuan.
