[Photo by Palden Nyima/chinadaily.com.cn] May 8, 2019 -- Lhasa, capital of the Tibet autonomous region, received more than 360,000 tourists over the May Day holiday, an increase of 32 percent year-on-year, according to the city's tourism development bureau. During the May Day holiday, which started on May 1 to and finished on May 4 this year, the city's travel revenue hit 353 million ($52million) yuan, up 64.1 percent year-on-year, according to the bureau. As the regional capital city, Lhasa is a world tourism attraction, and it holds many cultural heritage sites, such as the Potala Palace, one of only three UNESCO World Heritage sites in the region.
