March 11, 2019 -- With an increasing at female employment rate, women in China's Tibet Autonomous Region have fully played their unique role in fighting against poverty and have made significant achievements in poverty alleviation over the past years, according to the Tibet Women's Federation.
Tibet Women's Federation actively participated in the targeted poverty alleviation and applied "Internet Plus" entrepreneurial model in an innovative way last year. A series of policies were carried out to fight against poverty and promote entrepreneurship among women. More than 560 skill trainings covering various fields were organized for local women. A total of 34 poverty alleviation demonstration bases for women were established in the region. Over 20,000 women from poverty households found jobs. Female employment rate of Tibet exceeded 40 percent.
Various female skill trainings will be continually organized in 2019 to help more women find jobs and increase their income.
