Tengchen County lifts people out of poverty through relocation

Jan. 25, 2019 -- In order to meet the poverty alleviation goal of "move to a new place and live a better life", Tengchen County made huge efforts to relocate the poor in recent years. Since 2016, under the guidance of combining the poverty alleviation relocation with the construction of small towns, Tengchen County has persisted in developing industries in an all-round way in each relocation site, so as to ensure every relocation household find their own way to increase income. Meanwhile, infrastructure construction and public service capability also witnessed great improvement in this process.

At present, 971 people from 189 poor households establishing card for archives have moved into the relocation site in Wahe Village while 313 new housings (including 124 for households from shanty areas) have been built. Through resource integration, two industrial projects, namely the sand and gravel plant cooperative and the agricultural and livestock products logistics center have been carried out. As a result, the annual per capita income of Wahe Village realized an increase of more than 1,000 yuan RMB.
