Riwoqe County cultivates talents to promote poverty alleviation

Jan. 18, 2019 -- In 2018, based on its actual conditions, Riwoqe County of Qamdo City attached great importance to cultivate talents in agricultural and pastoral areas and made full efforts to offer better services to the masses by activating the elements of production, so as to get residents out of poverty and achieve prosperity, as well as lay a firm foundation for grass-roots work.

In order to promote the poverty alleviation work in an all-round way, Riwoqe County placed great emphasis on the selection and cultivation of talents in eight sectors, such as farming, breeding and handicraft. In this process, more than 1,100 "self-taught experts" in agricultural and pastoral areas turned to be practical talents through professional trainings.

At the same time, Riwoqe County vigorously implemented the pairing assistance project and encouraged outstanding young people in becoming rich to carry out sharing meetings regularly to provide experience to local farmers and herdsmen. Up to now, 20 leaders for becoming rich and practical talents in Riwoqe County have signed pairing assistance agreements with 2,700 local households to provide financial support and technical guidance.

In addition, Riwoqe County promulgated a series of preferential policies to let the best men give full play to their talents. As a result, they played an even more important role in benefiting-farmers in the way of forming "one-help-one" pairs with stay-at-home children, empty-nest elderly, the disabled, poverty-stricken students and other people who need help, which injected a strong impetus into the poverty alleviation work.
