New system of elderly health care service initially established in Lhasa

Oct. 31, 2018 -- Recently, according to the Committee on Aging of Lhasa City, by the end of 2017, the permanent population of Lhasa was 665,300, the registered population was 537,800 million, and the aged population over 60 years old was 52,055, accounting for 10.8% of the total registered population.

To truly reflect the care for elderly people, Lhasa municipal party committee and municipal government has carried out an extension of health subsidies for elderly people. All seniors above the age of 70 can enjoy the health subsidies for aged people. The specific standards are 600 yuan per year for those aged between 70 and 79, 1200 yuan per year for those aged between 80 and 89, 2400 yuan per year for those aged between 90 and 99, and 3,600 yuan per year for those aged over 100.
