Oct. 10, 2018 -- The production of dairy cows is low and the farm’s scale is small in the Carbanang Village of Chushur County, Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. In response to this situation, Dorje, one of the farmers from the village, organized various trainings to improve local villager’s skill in farming dairy cows. He also said, “Rely on the government’s preferential policies, with technology, our life gets better”.

In Chushur County, farmers and herdsmen generally had rare chance in employment due to low labor skills. Some villagers had to leave their hometown to earn money so that they can support their families, which requires local government to create more employment chances to increase local employment.

Aimed at building the “culture, technology, and management” the new group of professional villagers, Agricultural and Pastoral Office of Tibet has actively promoted various training modes. At the same time, a group of experts and scholars with high theoretical level, strong professional skills were selected to give new professional teachings to farmers and herdsmen.

For the new professional farmers and herdsmen, they not only have learned good labor skills, but also use the skills in the development of agriculture. With the policy support, the employment rate of farmers and herdsmen has been improved; average income has also been increased.

In recent years, Tibet’s pilot counties have focused on establishing various supportive policies to meet demand of farmers and herdsmen.
