Optical fiber fully covered in administrative villages in Lhasa

April 28, 2018 -- According to the Communications Administration of Tibet Autonomous Region, the telecommunication optical fiber laying project for pilot administrative villages in Lhasa City has been completed successfully. At this point, all 224 administrative villages in Lhasa City have taken the lead in achieving the full coverage of optical fiber in Tibet Autonomous Region.

Since 2016, according to pilot work of universal telecommunication service arranged by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Communications Administration of Tibet Autonomous Region has organized telecommunication enterprises to promote the pilot project, speed up the broadband access in rural areas, promote the application of rural electronic commerce, vigorously support the development of rural informatization.

The full coverage of optical fiber in administrative villages in Lhasa City brings convenient communications to the masses, provides an important platform for promoting the process of rural informatization, publicizing the party's policies, popularizing agricultural science and technology knowledge, and selling rural featured products, and lays a good foundation for the construction of beautiful countryside.
