Passenger throughput of Tibet’s airports increases in first three quarters

Oct. 27, 2017 -- By September this year, the passenger throughput of Tibet's airports reached 3,475,602 personnel, up 11.5% year on year. The cargo throughput also rose 23.2% to 26598.3 tonnes from January to September. A total of 31,413 flights took off or landed at Tibet's airports, up 6.4% year on year, according to the regional civil aviation.

This year, the civil aviation of Tibet Autonomous Region invested greatly in launching new air routes. At present, there are 73 flight routes and 41 navigable cities, making great contributions to the economic development of Tibet Autonomous Region.

Now Tibet's civil aviation is carrying out the training, checking, and maintenance work as well as emergency drill so as to ensure the smooth journey of passengers and provide air transport guarantee for Tibet's winter tourism.
