Tibet’s total import and export value increases in first three quarters

Oct. 24, 2017 -- According to the Lhasa Customs, in the first three quarters of this year, the total import and export value of Tibet Autonomous Region reached 4.728 billion yuan, up 22.1% year on year. Among which, the export value was 2.132 billion yuan, decreasing 2.5% year on year, while the import value was 2.596 billion yuan, increasing 54.1% year on year.

This year, Tibet's foreign trade structure was optimized continuously and general trade became its main trade mode. In the first three quarters, the import and export value of general trade reached 2.999 billion yuan, a year on year increase of 80.5% and accounting for 63.4% of Tibet's total import and export value over the same period.

At the same time, with the development of the integrated reform of customs clearance in China,  the efficiency of customs clearance was significantly improved, the enterprise market vitality was released ceaselessly, and the international competitiveness of private enterprises was constantly improved, which played an important role in the development of Tibet's foreign trade.
