Qonggyai County develops local industry for poverty alleviation

Oct. 11, 2017 -- At an average elevation of 4200 meters, Gyaimain Town of Qonggyai County, Lhoka City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region has 6 administrative villages and 1072 households. Among which, 256 poor households have established cards for archives. To change the production and living conditions of poor people, the party committee and government of Gyaimain Town have supported local masses to plant 50 mu of Tibetan prismatic herb in 3 administrative villages. At the same time, relying on dairy industry, the Sailong Agriculture and Husbandry Products Processing Specialized Cooperative is established and agreements are signed with Lhasa's dairy companies. By gradually increasing production capacity, it drives the development of dairy industry and leads local poor households to increase incomes.
