July 3,2017--People in Maoxian County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in southwest China’s Sichuan province observed a minute’s silence to remember those who have lost lives in the “6.24” massive landslide in the county’s Xinmo Village, Diexi Township.

The landslide buried more than 100 people from more than 62 homes in the county. President Xi Jinping has urged that no effort be spared in the search and rescue operations, and has instructed the State Council to send a work team to the site. However, secondary landslide hampered the rescue efforts and up to now, 10 people were confirmed dead and 73 were still missing.
