Tibet Airlines to open two new air routes

June 7, 2017 -- According to Tibet Airlines Co. Limited, on June 6, two new air routes will be opened, namely Kunming-Mangshi and Guiyang-Lhasa. The opening of the two new air routes will further extend and perfect Tibet's airline network. At the same time, it also reflects that Tibet Airlines regards Kunming and Guiyang as key air destinations to come in and out Tibet in southwest China.

The opening of Kunming-Mangshi route is of great significance. As the capital city of Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, Mangshi is inhabited by ethnic minorities and has very rich national characteristics tourism resources. Besides, it borders Burma and is an important gateway to South Asia and South-Central Asia. Apart from the Kunming-Lijiang route, it is the second direct route that Tibet Airlines has opened in Yunnan Province, which improves Tibet Airlines' tourism market share in Yunnan Province.

After the opening of Guiyang-Lhasa air route, Guiyang will become another key city to come in Tibet during the summer, which is meaningful to improve the route utilization rate, ease the traffic pressure in peak season, and provide more convenient choices for passengers.
