Jan. 22, 2017 -- From January 19, 2017 on, Gyirong Port has reopened two-way traffic between China and Nepal on land. Visitors can go to Nepal through the Gyirong Port overland, and they also can return to China through the port from Nepal.
Reporters learned that there are many buses, minibuses, off-road vehicles and small cars carpooling to Gyirong near the Consulate General of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepalin Lhasa.
There are two ways to go to Nepal from Lhasa, which are by air and overland. the fare of direct flights from Lhasa to Kathmandu, capital of Nepal, is about RMB 2,000 yuan which takes about 2 hours. In addition, there are direct cars starting from Lhasa to Gyirong. People can carpool, and the price changes from 300 yuan to 500 yuan.
