In recent years, Nyingchi has accelerated the construction of International ecotourism zone and national all-region tourism demonstration zone. It always follows the principle of "making a plan before development, increasing the profit by quality improvement and balancing protection and development". Furthermore, public service infrastructures get great improvement. Tourism traffic becomes more convenient, safe and comfortable.

Nyingchi strives to build excellent scenic spots and A-class scenic cluster. At the moment, 27 scenic spots open to the public, out of which there are four 4A-class tourist spots and 3A-class tourist spots. The construction of 11 rural tourism demonstration villages has also progressed well.
