|Nov. 16, 2016 -- Statistics from the Development and Reform Commission of Lhasa shows that the regional gross domestic product (GDP) was 31 billion yuan (4.52 billion U.S. dollars) from January to September, a year-on-year growth of 12.4 percent. The added value of the primary industry reached 705 million yuan, up 6.8 percent from the previous year. The added value of the secondary industry was 12.57 billion yuan, an increase of 15.8 percent. The added value of the tertiary industry was 17.76 billion yuan, an increase of 10.3 percent. The scale of fixed assets investment continues to expand, with yearly investment reaching 45.75 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 20 percent. A series of key basic infrastructures start construction, such as Lhasa-Nyinchi Railway and Golmud-Lhasa Railway.
In the first three quarters, Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, received 123.3 million tourists from home and broad, generating a total of 16.7 billion yuan in tourism revenue, a year-on-year increase of 20.98 percent and 22.67 percent respectively. Urban per capita disposable income was 22,368 yuan, a year-on-year growth of 10.3 percent. Rural per capita net income was 7,099 yuan, a year-on-year growth of 15.7 percent.
